Re: Help ! Astoria Custom blowing HT Fuse

I would be thinking about trying to get it back to Marshall for the repair, either via your retailer or contact them yourself. If you want to fix it yourself, their spares department would probably be able to get the Tolex covering for you. They've helped me out in the past with grill cloth and the ...

Re: VM fuse holder / fuse type

If I remember right, I think my Vintage Modern had a small compartment, as part of the mains socket assembly, with a spare fuse inside.

Re: Original Purchase Contract for Van Halen

They were lucky kids.

In my schooldays I had to do a lot of paper rounds, and work a lot of saturdays to buy my first guitar. Which was a piece of junk!

Re: Wireless!

I'm revisiting this old post as I have done a U-turn with the transmitter system. I have used the Xvive U2 transmitter non stop, for gigs and rehearsals, for nearly 2 years now. Have been very happy with it, and still stand by all the positives I quoted back when I first raised this post. A couple o...

Re: Dr Z

Thanks for all the feedback on the Astoria guys :doh I was realy looking for info and opinions on the Maz . I know there is a lot of love here on the forum for all things Marshall, but it does no harm to look around. I have been a Marshall user all my life and joined this forum when it was the Vinta...

Dr Z

Anybody any experience of Dr Z amps? I need to seriously downsize and am looking to replace all my amp collection with one top quality combo that could maybe cope with a small gig as well as home use. Based on some Youtube clips I am drawn to Dr Z's Maz 18. It's the right size, wattage, and is handw...

Re: Walk In My Shadow

Brilliant! Free - still top of the pile for me, and Paul Kossoff was one of the reasons I first picked up a guitar.

50 years later and Paul Rodgers can still sing it!

IronGear pickups

I need to sing the praises of IronGear pickups. Great, well built, excellent sounding pickups for a fraction of the price. I have tried their TeSLA SHark Alnico II set, which is their equivalent of the Duncan APH-2, and the Rolling Mill bridge. Very happy with them. I suspect they are UK designed an...

Re: Replacement part for the IEC socket

I have a had a lot of contact with Ampmaker over the years, and normally that would be a good recommendation for spare parts but unfortunately they are not trading for a year and will not be back again till Autumn 2019. I did a quick Google for that socket and found a few suppliers. Also Marshall UK...

Re: Gibson Over Thinking Artists Guitars

I can remember the days when, if you wanted a Les Paul, you got a Standard or a Custom, because that was all there was, and that was all we needed.
All these overpriced, over-decorated, artist guitars that most of the artists never use, bring nothing extra to a guitar player.
