Re: Antares Auto Tune Guitar Build

Beautiful guitar man, nice work! I would drop to many "f bombs" if I did it because I just don;t have the patience for it. But I know one that you build for yourself is special. I love the Fishman Midi pickup, I bought a Strat that had one factory install already, tracks beautiful. It is wireless s...

Antares Auto Tune Guitar Build

I used a Warmoth roasted Swamp Ash body with Maple neck. The installation was tricky - don't attempt this unless you have some luthier and woodworking skills! I still have to work out the power source; my original plan to use the Fishman Fluence battery failed, so I need to add a battery box instead...

Re: Back to Rockman!

Nice to have another Rockman fan on the board! I've got a few of those blue boxes myself: http://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg481/GuitarBuilder/Guitars/IMG_0699_zpsc343e557.jpg The one at the top is a custom-made Rockman Superhead, converted by Vince of RMC fame from a XP-100. The XPR is in anothe...

Re: Attenuator useful for DSL, JCM900 etc?

If you could land a 6100/6101 the low volume compensation circuit works remarkably well. I used a 6100 half stack in apartments for years and the sound was killer even at whisper levels and i could play my hands off and no neighbors even complained. +1 BTW - for an $875 attenuator, I can get a coup...

Re: An 'Ace' guitar

Collectors are a different breed, being into cars, guitars, or baseball cards. They don't need to use their collectibles, they just want to show them off and look at them. For them a guitar owned by Ace is worth something more than for someone who wants to play it. Judging them through a player's ey...

Marshall 50th Anniversary Profiles

I have 4 of 5 50th Anniversary heads, here are the profiles! JTM-1H and JMP-1H were taken through a Marshall 2061CX with Celestion G12H-30's. JCM-1H and DSL-1H were done through an Avatar G212 with Vintage 30s. Shure SM57 microphone in all cases, about 24" away from the center of the cabinet. Your c...

Re: Compressor Suggestions

I'll throw a Dark Horse on the pile: the SR&D Rockman Guitar Compressor. Not a stomp box, but a half-rack unit with studio-quality electronics. It was a very special design that could not only handle a fast attack, but a long decay without cutting off the note as well. In addition, a "lead-leveler" ...

Re: Poll: Tube or Digital?

Once I thought it would be my 6100LM, a fabulous amp. Then I got a Kemper and profiled all my tube amps. The rest you can guess. Given the finality of the question, I'll have to go digital with the Kemper. The portability and versatility just can't be matched by tube amps. Since I profiled the amps ...

Re: Poll: Tube or Digital?

Of all my rigs if I am only keeping one it is going to be the Kemper, way to many options and so many things made more consistent and easy to use. But I love having options and why I still own so many amps when the fact is the Kemper does everything I really need. There is one solid state amps I am...
