Re: David Crosby checks in

Crosby Stills and Nash had a profound influence on rock and roll. Blending folk country and rock together like no other band. Crosby's influence is legend. Stills and Nash without him would have been a completely different entity. R I P.

Re: Musikraft Necks

Absolutely right Surf. For me I am interested in a 7.25 to 9.5 compound radius neck. Guitars like the silver sky or the vintage 50's Stratocaster II are out of my price range. I tried a Ventura Strat and didn't like the fret ends or over all quality. My 2013 classic vibe 50's Strat sounds and plays ...

Re: Musikraft Necks

Very well done Surf! Almost everything you need to know about necks in one post. The only thing left is wood choice, neck and fretboard. Way too many choices for one post. Hope you enjoy your new neck. I have been thinking of getting a custom neck for quite some time now. Thanks for the info. :Cheer...

Re: damaged Astoria Custom

Great news! Kudos to Steamboat amps. Great technicians are hard to find. Particularly in today's gear market. so much stuff. You can go to 10 different repair shops and get 10 different stories. The shop that sold you the amp should consider using Steamboat amps to do their repairs. Congratulations....

Re: damaged Astoria Custom

I would assume that it is the cost factor for one thing. A great Marshall tech would probably be able to repair it but the time spent is possibly beyond what they are willing to pay. I knew a great tech that would do cracked pcb repairs with a microscope. Very costly but good as new once done. befor...

Re: Offset JTM45

Really great amp. My local music store had one back when I bought the 2266C. I loved the tone of the offset, but it was very expensive as it had just been released. At that time the deal I got on the Vintage Modern was too good to pass up.

Very nice indeed! You could say that this is an ancestor to the harp guitar. I have always been intrigued by multi stringed instruments.
Would love to try a harp guitar.

Re: Gibson wins case against Dean guitars over trademark infringement

I don't know why Gibson singled out Dean. There are copies made by many companies. Most bargain music stores are packed with cheap Gibson and Fender knockoffs. Fender I think were smart in creating their own bargain lines of instruments.

Re: What about the JCM600???

I had a JTM60 with an Eminence designed 15 in speaker. Awesome amp. Listen to this guys clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azqlkGV8i5M I really like my 2266c but the two channel versatility of the JTm60 is something I miss. The JCM 600 was basically the same amp in a different package. :Cheers Dan...

Re: Convert LDR to 2203 and HDR to Hi-Gain 2203

Interesting I mostly use a Strat. But also use an acoustic with onboard preamp. On occasion an Ibanez with Seymour Duncan humbuckers. My V M is a 2266c. I have never felt the tone to be muddy! Are you using Vintage Modern greenbacks? It seems to me a lot of time and effort to extensively mod the amp...

Re: Convert LDR to 2203 and HDR to Hi-Gain 2203

Stratmauler said "Hi there, Not an amp expert by any stretch, but the slight issue I had when I bought my 2266, is that it was too bright. Easily fixed with the amps treble and mid controls, and the guitar tone knob. I thought they were known as bright amps. Maybe check out the amps condition first;...

Re: flood

Just wood damage. The amp works fine. Water didn't touch speakers. Would like to get it back to mint condition. The prices on Reverb are really high right now. Not that I am planning to sell but it's nice to have the option
