Last Chance to get an AX8 (USA)...

Fractal is having a Summer Sale. B-Stock AX8s are $1099. The AX8 is being phased out for the FM3, so this is probably the last chance to get a solid piece of gear at a good price.

Re: How many guitars do you think needs to have?

Hi all! I know some people are collectors, some people just have one guitar and some have more than one but how many guitars do you think needs have? I don't know if I am a collector or I'm just a player because I have to many guitars and usually just play 5 of them. :crazy For my needs I think wit...

Re: Okay, Here we Go

I saw Queenseryche in 1997 and it sucked. It wasn't them. It was the sound. It was horrible. I wonder if this was the post-EMI bankruptcy part of the tour where they had to self-fund the rest of it. Which Queensryche did you see? When Goeff Tate left or was kicked out there became like two Queensry...

This version popped up in a Acura commercial over here.

We do this song and I get a good long wank at the end. :headbanger :laugher

Re: SV20 RR style

It just needs the Distortion + to put give it that "Tribute" sound. I like that you didn't bridge the inputs. The amp that Marshall made for him had the inputs jumped internally, but Randy allegedly didn't like the sound and plugged in to the non-jumped channel.

Nice job guys! :Cheers

I heard shades of Michael Schekner in your lines, Al.

This gives me a little nudge to continue working on something I have brewing... :think

Re: SV20 70s mix

That's great skinnyj, I like it. Thanks Al! :Cheers I purposely did it almost like your track to see how close I could get. I'd say I got a lot closer than I expected. My track sounds like it has more upper mids and a little more gain. The SLP on the AX8 is a bit on the "gainy" side. It could also ...

That is a great all-around sound. I was able to apply some of your thinking to the AX8 and get similar results.

Re: SV20H Availability

Be careful when saying "only 50 watts". 50 Watts is only about 3 dbs less than 100 watts, so still pretty loud. The Classic is probably about 25% less the volume of a 100 watter. Granted, circuit designs and components can muddy the waters a bit, but the "2x volume = 10x power" seems to be pretty co...

Re: NGD! I blame the dog...

An update... I played out with it last weekend. I played 95% of the night with it. It was surprisingly comfortable and light. There were no reach issues and the slight pitch forward didn't really bother me. My biggest concern was that there would be a output difference between the mini-buckers and m...

Re: 56 Strat reissue, about 6 months old

Pretty guitar! I hate relic'd guitars also, unless I am the one that relic'd them over time w/ constant playing and unintentional abuse. I just got a Firebird and, so far, I don't feel a great need to change anything, as it sounds good as is. However, I may swap the tuners for locking ones. Thankful...
