Re: Any one here who plays 5 string bass?

I have a five string Dean bass, but I changed the strings to E A D G B, so I had to get a 40 gauge 1st string. This way I can play it just as my normal guitar, and is great for chords too!

Re: YJM100 with Morgan Pettersson settings

Yes, a Strat really helps here to cut through, also the low output seems to help with the amp, which can get overloaded with humbuckers at high EPA settings. One other thing that's important with this tone is the G12H55 speaker I was using.
I love that speaker.

Re: Me & the YJM - first impressions

Hey Mike 56, that's an interesting way of setting up the amp at low ish volume. I'll give it a try. Thanks. BTW, there's no right or wrong way of using this amp, you paid for it and can do what you like, no flack on the OCD!

Re: JMP1 vs the other Heads, your feedback valued

Well Luke, this is an old topic, but I had mine modified to give more bass by my amp tech. Trouble for you is I'm in England, so what Plexi did was change valves and speakers to get the same effect. He did some great demos with his setup on this forum. With the stock amp you really just get mids and...

Re: Some help with speaker swapping

I just used a small screw driver to lever them off pushing in the direction you want the clip to go. When it does come off, use the same driver to open the clips up a little (but keep them quite tight still) so you can use fingers in future.

Re: I finally join the Les Paul Club- LP Trditional

Thanks for the update, I was interested how it compared to your other LP's. As you remember, I had to lower the action which pulled it into my hand, and I've got Spider fingers!
I wonder what is different from your new model, to my 09 model, does it have coil taps?

Re: DSL1 and alnico Blue clips

Hi Cousin Muely, thanks for that Wishbone Ash reference. Thanks Tim for your comments, Yes the Blue is a great speaker, and adds a bit of Cream over rough edges, like harmonics and helps The DSL to be smoother. The tuning for track one was D-standard tuning(DGCFAD), and I keep the Yam RGX in that al...

Re: JTM1 JMP1 JCM1 Owners

Luke, Great pictures of the Les Pauls, very nice. I too used to be an Ace fan, love his slow vibrato, and his live solo at the end of Shock Me is an all time favourite, the tone is just incredible (Kiss Alive 2)

DSL1 and alnico Blue clips

Hi guy's, I've been reading a few people are not bonding with the DSL1, so I tried 3 different guitars with a Celestion Blue in my 1936 cab. A change of guitar can make the difference. So track 1 is a Yamaha RGX in D tuning. Track 2 is a Vintage lemon drop Track 3 is a Yamaha SG3000S, which I posted...

Re: Mooer Pedals - 50% off deal - Anyone played these?

Hi Surly, I have posted a clip of my Mooer OCD copy here; http://marshallvintagemodern.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11968 And you are right on all you have said. This one is the best, though they are all usable, and all not as good as the full size pedals. I have tried most of them in the local shop. A f...

Re: YJM and 1974CX cab

Thanks John, that made me laugh haha. How did you get on with these settings? did it work for you. It can depend on the speakers also. Thanks also to GuitarBuilder for your comments. I just put the cab's cover on and put it in the cupboard. If I have too much gear out someone (and she's just sitting...

Hey Luke, they look nice, and the cabs too. Like the Les Paul's, are you an ACE Frehley fan?

Nice. I hope you can sort out the Tribute with its mini buckers. Are you planning to keep both Trad and Trib?
