You shouldn't have a problem as it's only a pedal. Just turn it up to where you want.

The problems come when people try to do things like drive the output of a power amp into an FX return, I kid you not!

You should be OK.

The first part of this question should really have been pitched to Santiago in the JVM410 forum but I'm sure he won't mind if I answer this. Here is the pertinant extract from the JVM manual; - 15. SPEAKER Outputs There are 5 speaker outputs available on the rear panel. They are labelled according t...

Paul Gilbert live with the Vintage Modern

Some live Paul Gilbert clips with the Vintage Modern here. The quality obviously depends on what was used to record them i.e. some of them are just people's mobile phones and of course Youtube's streaming bandwidth etc. but I think you can get the idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtwvGWfV4_k htt...

The Vintage Modern is basically a JTM45 with some hot rodding. The vintage Modern is essentially a Plexi with some bells and whistles. Its foundation is the 'JTM 45 Super 100's' as championed by Hendrix, Clapton in Cream and several others. SteveD, that is almost EXACTLY what I've been waiting for ...

Don't worry, he means the white jack socket nut for the footswitch input on the rear panel of the amp. This facilitates quick identification of this socket in low stage lighting.

OK guys here is the lowdown; - V1 is the first gain stage included in the signal path on both dynamic ranges. V2 is an extra gain stage which is included only on the high dynamic range. V3 is the tone stack V4 is the phase inverter. If anybody requires any clarification of what the various pots and...

Hi Steve, I like the knobs. By the way - What do you call the colour of the VM over at Marshall? ...Personally, I like 'Ribena Sneeze' ;) 'Ribena Sneeze' does it for me LOL! but it is actually referred to as 'Cougar' which was the project codename during development. (Cougar Fret cloth, Cougar Leva...

I'll have my VM half stack within 2 weeks. I'll get back to you. Are you the designer of the VM? If so how did the VM come to be? Did Marshall just tell you to come up with an amp to appeal to a certain type of player? Of did you approach them with an idea? Jim Hi Jim, The JVM was definately the am...

I'm surprised that nobody has commented on the rubberised 'soft touch' knobs on the Vintage Modern!

Re: Myth Busters...

You can have your amp on standby with no load connected, this is perfectly safe. You can also have your amp fully turned on with no load connected as long as there is no signal passing through it ie. guitar plugged in and played by somebody. The potential for damage is when the OP Tx tries to drive...

Here's another one... If you remove the two outside poweramp valves (tubes) from a 100w amplifier, you can use it as a 50w amp. Over to you Steve  This is definately a NO NO on the 100 Watt Vintage Modern. The HT (B+) on this amp is very high; - approx 530VDC and this is about as high as the ...

......and an invite to Jim Marshall's birthday party at the end of July. LOL! Seriously though, it seems apparent that there are many people out there who are approaching the Vintage Modern from the wrong angle and I would be happy to help those who need a little 'old school' education. How about a ...
