Re: Billy Blades Song of the day! For those about to CRUNCH

I like to ask my 60 year old boss what it was like to drop the needle for the first time on this album when it came out. Hell, I was left slack-jawed when my 14 year old ears first heard it in 1985!

Re: Celestial Effects Cancer Wah the Fuzz? Demo

I've been meaning to check their stuff out. The first time I heard of them, I was playing in Sterling, MA and some guy gave me a Celestial Effects business card. They are based out of Hudson, MA, about an hour from here. It would be good to support the local guys. Anyway, I guy I jam with has that a...

Re: If you grew up in the 60's 70's etc

1971 here. Horror of horrors... My parents had the nerve to keep the household cleaners under the kitchen sink where they belonged. No child-proof latch. No "Mr Yuck" stickers. My mother felt her children weren't stupid enough to drink drain cleaner. When I was 11, I racked myself up pretty good in ...

Dont qoute me, but I think Martystrat54 over yonder likes the Tung Sols.
I have a RI Tung Sol in V1 of my 4104 and it sounds good. That is why I'm considering it.

Re: Looking for some preamp tube wisdom...

They both have a mish-mosh of Sovtek, JJs and some sort of Marshall branded things that came with my Class 5. Just stuff I had lying around. The MP-2 originally had generic tubes with red lettering that just said "12AX7" on them. They sounded kind of muddy to my ears. The MP-1 had Sovteks in it when...

Looking for some preamp tube wisdom...

I have an ADA MP-1 & MP-2 and am looking for some preamp advice for them. I'm thinking of going with CP Mullard or Tung Sol.

Any suggestions?
