They were lucky kids. In my schooldays I had to do a lot of paper rounds, and work a lot of saturdays to buy my first guitar. Which was a piece of junk! From what I have read, the drums were for Eddie and the guitar was for Alex. The story goes that Eddie had a paper route to pay for the drums (I'm...
That is an impressive machine. As I get older, I'm happy with my 1/4 acre city lot that can be serviced with my $99 Home Depot mower and $89 Ryobi electric trimmer and the whole process takes about 30 minutes. Less time doing yard work means more time playing guitar and such! :bgrin Yeah. Thats a p...
I can relate to the '800 volume woes. I had a 4104 for a few years and could never get it to sound good, as I couldn't get it to the volume needed to make it shine. My band plays small bars and those venues have become really strict on excessive volume, so I could barely get the amp to "2" (high inp...

I'm surprised "The Ultimate Sin" is in the collection, as Sharon has always been loath to pay Jake E Lee royalties because he had full writing credits on that album.
Thanks for the thoughts guys. Yeah, I'm not much on quitting even feeling not given a chance. I'm a medium rare guy myself Skinny. 7 minutes of a hot fire was all i needed for 1" cuts. What made it so awkward was the guy that donated the grill was there. I didnt know him. He showed up at the height...
From what I recall, the best way to dial in an early Marshall is to put all the tone controls on "10" and then subtract frequencies to taste. The tone controls actually take away more than they add, if that makes sense... :think I'll bet I would have got along with my '800 better if it had a FX loop.
I think I'm more alarmed that the person that provided a trailer smoker didn't understand that you can't grill on it. That kind of smoker isn't exactly beginner equipment.
I have a SE Torero and I have had no quality issues with it.
My budget is usually in the Indonesian/South Korean range, and those places are currently killing it in their price points. My Schecter is a Korean guitar and is my #1 stage guitar, currently. My 'Bird is #2 and the Torero is #3.
Setup question... I run my AX8 into an older M-Audio M-Track, then into my PC and out to a pair of PreSonus Eris 4.5" powered monitors. The problem I am having is a lack of volume, especially when the mix is set equally between the AX8 and audio playback. I'm not sure if the weak link is the interfa...
Floor units are awesome. I love my AX8. I gigged with it on Saturday, and, as usual, the sound was on point. However, I wonder if they are going to run into the same issues Fractal has with their floor units. Heat is a big factor in these units, so processing power has to be cut somewhat to alleviat...
Speaking of "shred" guitars... A couple of years ago, my local store had an 80s era MIJ Ibanez RG550. I didn't have the money, but man, did I want to take it home. Those things were killer.
