Nothing wrong with that tone, and if you were after Whitesnake I think you got REAL close. I would like to hear that with perhaps a bit more overdrive pushing it and with a thin layer of chorus. Either way it sounds great.

But REALLY looking into buying a John Mayer strat. Hey Slash, no need to spend big bucks on a Strat, if you want a new one I highly recommend the Robert Cray Stratocaster. It plays and sounds excellent; and for $674 new it is a absolute steal. And while a am a snob pig about American Deluxe Strats ...

You guys want to hear a Telecaster that will rip your face off? Check out the links below, I used to be in a band with this guy back in 1980-1982 and although he now lives in Maine we remain friends. He builds his own Pinecaster's and they sound sweet. Enjoy his playing, here are a couple of videos ...

However, my main guitar and first choice for the last nine years has been and will continue to be my Strat.
I completly understand brother, I love my Strat also. I am thinking of changing my pickups from the Noiseless SC-1 to the Fender Fat '50s.

No offense but this is like asking if you want to bang a blonde or a redhead, both really good and yummy. IMO a player needs BOTH on his guitar rack, or sure some will reach for the Strat more often but with these two guitars you can cover about anything in Rock and Blues. Once a player has those tw...

The results of replacing the C22B with the Pearly Gates is way less mudd and huge gain in harmonic overtones, I think the PG is less hot than the C22 but it is a definite improvment over the Carvin pickup.

I'm going to slap it in my CT3C this weekend, I only bought one for the bridge to replace the C22B. I have the H22 in the neck and I really like it so that one is staying, I will let you know how it goes and post a sound clip. \\ BTW I am waiting on my new SH-575, going to use it to trigger my synth...

Seymour Duncun Pearly Gates

Well Since playing the VM I decided I needed to change pickups in one of my guitars. My LesPaul with the '57s sounds great as does my Strat, not so much my Carvin. I just got a set of these sent to me so I am going to change out the stock pickups in my Carvin California Carved Top to make it sound b...

Cool, Makes me feel as if I know him. Both Marshall and all of us on this board are lucky to have him around.

Hell he even looks respectable enough to have him over for dinner.

Defently the Epi woud be the one to mod, you don't buy a $3000 LP and say "I don't like the pickups", but if you have to change them just besure that you do not have to route the holes as it would bring the resale value down. The EPI is a nice playing guitar it is just that their pickups suck as wel...

I stay in the low range most of the time and boost with the OCD, for more modern high gain stuff I have to go to the high range. I do prefer the vintage low range, very sweet.
