Other foot switches

Postby rccCrawler » 25 Sep 2008, 07:23

Hey guys;

Just wondering if anyone happens to know if another footswitch will work with the VM?

Specifically, I find it hard to tell in the chaos of a live performance if the reverb is on or off, I'd like a visual indicator. Normally I have it off (I like to run dry), but in certain sections of certain songs I like it on.

I think the Boss FS5 has a LED - will this work with the VM?

I don't mind losing the hi/low dynamic footswitch functionality, as I don't mind pushing the front panel button for that on the rare occasions when I actually change it. But the reverb I need a little more assurity when it is on/off.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Anyone who knows please let me know, or if you have another suggestion. I know I could get a reverb pedal and not use the amp's reverb, but my reverb needs are minor and the amp's is fine for what I need..... I just gotta know and confirm when it is on or off visually.

Thanks!

If you use the Boss FS5-L it will work to switch the reverb on and off with LED indication. If you want to switch both the dynamic range and the reverb, you could use the FS6 to switch them with the momentary and latching switches respectively. It is also equipped with LEDs. I hope this solves your problem :wink:

I thought those woyld work.... so you've done it? Not that I'm discounting what you say was just kinda hoping there was someone who has tried it and it worked.

Also, is there one that does not require a battery - ie: I can hook up a 9v power supply?

Don't worry, I understand that you want confirmation that it works from someone who uses the footswitch. I don't use it but I remembered from a previous post that someone was looking for the same switching capability with LED indication. I delved a little deeper and found the post and it turns out that one of our forum members zappatista uses the FS6. Here is the link to the previous post :)
