Hi, I am new here and I do realize this post is Old but have recently bought one of these amps and though I am not good with amp schematics I have been doing mods on my own equipment for bout 10 years now by following what I find on the net. but could not find the location on the board to place the choke anywhere in my searches...If you could tell me is it R57?. I posted a pic of the board for reference also circled where I believe you are referring to ...Thank you.

The choke goes in place of R82 (270 Ohm, 5W) on Marshall Vintage Modern schematic.

That's not even R57 that you originally circled?!?

You want the large white block resistor sitting near the HT fuse holder, R82 as Kot said.
