I have little experience or knowledge regarding effects loops. Since I've had the 2266X, I've learned that my delay sounds best through the loop. So, last week I used an effects loop for the first time. Not knowing if a true bypass pedal or buffered pedal would work best, I decided to use my old Boss DD-3 which is buffered. I ran two long cables to switch it out front. What I noticed was a huge increase in high end and much less beef and goodness. I'm not sure what the culprit was or exactly how to remedy it, but this week I'm gonna try better quality cables, but they are still long, and with a true-bypass delay instead.
Would using short cables be better? If so, what type of unit can I use to switch it out front?
I also have a Hughes & Kettner Tube Rotosphere which sounds best in the loop. However, with drive, it gets very raspy sounding. When I back off on the guitars volume it sounds better. So, again, I do not know what's going on? Impedance issue?? And I do not know if delay should be before or after the Rotosphere??
Any help would be fantastic. Thank you!
