Hello,
I have recently acquired a VM 2266 head and have a question.........
This amp has previously been converted to EL34 tubes. It currently has ClassicTone output transformer 40-18074, which has a 3.6K ohm primary w/ 4,8,16 ohm secondaries. This OT replacement was part of the conversion to EL34s.
I have started the process of putting this amp back to factory specs, using KT66 power tubes. I am eyeing up ClassicTone output transformer 40-18039, which has an 8k ohm primary and 4,8,16 ohm secondaries. I believe this is an excellent match with the original factory transformer for KT66 power tubes. Can anyone verify if this is a good choice for this application?
