J202 replacement for fx loop

Postby pedro80 » 24 Feb 2023, 08:47

Hello, I have problems with the loop of my 2266 (bought second hand). Apparently someone wanted to modify the effects loop and ended up messing it up. So far I was able to change fet 3 for vn2410 without problems, but I can't get J202 here in my country; I would like to know if it can be replaced with any of the possible substitutes that have been offered to me: 2N5457, 2N5484, 2N5485, J201

As long as the electrical characteristics in the data sheet are equal, really close or better than you should be able to use it.

Thanks for the prompt response, the problem I'm running into is that not only can't I find the J202, but those mentioned replacements generally have a lower voltage rating, for example the J202 has a 40v vds, while the others only 25v. I have thought of placing, for example, a 2N5485, increase the source resistance in order to decrease the vds and, if necessary, increase the value of RNFB in the return circuit to equalize the levels. My only doubt so far is that there will be a change in tone once the modifications have been made, my main idea was to leave the original circuit, but it is impossible to get a J202 around here. I listen to some suggestions. From already thank you very much

Can you post a link to the correct data sheet for the FET? I assume that's the part you need.

The problem is that in my country there are infinite restrictions and taxes regarding imports, that's why I look for a local replacement.
