The Paul Gilbert Sound from 2007-2012

Postby Sixstring2266c » 27 Mar 2023, 11:35

Hey everyone!

I have been a fan of this amp since 2007, first Whitesnake album Good to be Bad and the Paul Gilbert NAMM performance when he released the "Reversed Iceman" and Silence Followed By A Deafening Roar. I have had multiple variants. First a purple 2266c, then a half stack 2466 with the 425a, then another 2466 with a 2526 cab, and now a black 2266c again. All stock. I have tried it many ways with all the pedals and whatnot, but now I finally swept up a FRM100 in good condition. I have to say, with this guitar and the Dimarzio Injectors, I finally now understand playing with all knobs at 5, HDR and mid boost in! It is THE sound and it sounds totally like Silence and Fuzz Universe, United States and What If records. So cool!! I waited 13 years to have this experience since the Fuzz Tour in Stockholm when I heard this glory live. It was such a dynamic warm Marshall tone. This concert can be heard on the Vibrato album, when he plays Go Down, Baby I want to be loved and Roundabout. Its from the Stockholm concert in November 2010. Im so happy!Image
