Before the Riffstation app, I had used the Amazing Slow Downer.

Riffstation has come a long way.

If you're unsure on Riffstation, I suggest try the demo version.

As my ears have aged... tools like Riffstation, have helped me save time. However, Riffstation is NOT 100% accurate for transcribing. Since there is this limitation to the software, I cannot recommend it; as it is not best 'transcribing tool' for my needs.

One aspect I use Riffstation for, is to practice along with songs that I have accurate notation; to isolate parts of a song then slow tempo down.

Transcribing Tip for you: Convert MP3 to MIDI file then import to notation software. Has helped me to compare information in Riffstation and the notation. With an instrument in hand, I'll play along to narrow down chord voicings, note pitches, etc.

If you give the Riffstation software a go... Let us know how you get along with it.

I just remembered I've used this before slowing down quick passages in cover tunes. Definitely leaned out the process cause I generally don't enjoy learning covers anymore. I thought it worked well. Now, if I need to i just use my Reaper software. I record the track to Reaper and once recorded I just slow the tempo.
