Baker's family said on Twitter that he died Sunday: "We are very sad to say that Ginger has passed away peacefully in hospital this morning."

It's funny you mention BBM, as I was just reading Baker's take on that band. Apparently he was left with a less than glowing appraisal of Gary Moore, as a person.

Reading between the lines of many interviews who mention Mr Moore, the consensus would match your comment, However many 'difficult' guitarists are talented beyond the normal window (so to speak)
