Greetings ... here's my dumb ones for the day.
A number of years ago, I purchased 4 brand new replacement tubes for my preamp section .
The tube in question cost me $149 and came in a box with German writing all over it with 'SIEMENS AG MUNCHEN 80, 1 STUCK, 10/74' being understandable. The tube itself had no writing on it at all that said 'Mullard'.
Text on tube is: SIEMENS, ECC83, 774, and a logo that looks like opened up claws descending on the text, with the text - BWB 933.
I bought them from a reputable online dealer but I can't remember who. Does anybody know this tube from my scant description?
If you do, what position in the preamp section would it 'shine' the most? I know, I know, it's all subject to experimentation ... just thought I'd be lazy and ask :hah
Well, the time has come for tube replacement and this is what I've chosen: V1=JJECC83S, V2= JAN/Phillips ECG 5751, V3=Shuagang 12ax7B (stock supposedly) and V4= I thought the fancy ass 'Mullard', labelled Siemens ECC83, should go here.
Lemme know ... thanks
