I've thought I would get one of these to leave in the bag in case a tube preamp tube goes while I'm out. I assume these are much more durable than leaving a tube in my bag all the time to get crushed. Otherwise I probably wouldn't use them

I've never seen anything like that before, that's actually pretty cool. Not sure I'd use them, but it is fun to see someone in the industry actually innovating.

I would really like to test new technology but what I don't like is how they try to make traditional vacum tubes sound bad.
It's not true that they sound bad, actually they sound so good that it doesn't get any better than that.
If the tone in video below isn't perfect then I surrender.

I would be intrigued about using one of these as a cathode follower. Does that tube really affect the tone THAT much? From what I understand V1 affects the tone a bunch, the phase inverter affects it a bit and the cathode follower hardly affects it at all. It's just there to match impedances and then to go out and make your amp sound like bacon cooking. I would be interested in using one of these there. I just don't really want to be the guinea pig!
