I'm using those Shug 12AX7B 9th gen tubes in my JMP's.
Yup, they go real well in a 6100 also. They handle the gain stages nicely.

I honestly, and painstakingly went through my 6100 trying JJ's, EH's and I think Tungs in the preamp, and I couldn't hear anything. If I did, it was so minor tat it didn't matter. WTF do you guys hear?!!!
Many Marshall's, and I want more.

Hmmmm, Maybe i'm just anal! I can hear a difference in the upper mids to the high end between JJ's, Tung Sol, EH, and Sino 12ax7's. IMO I like the Sino tubes the best in a 6100 for 12ax7"s. To each his own but you can score Sino tubes for 8.99 a pop unlike some NOS tubes starting at $25 and up. Imagine buying 7 NOS tubes for $25 a pop and 4 6L6 NOS tubes for $300. That's a total of $475 buck on tubes.
For $200 more you can buy a 6100. I just don't see the NOS thing. So with that in mind you go back to CP tubes and i'll take Sino pre-amp's and Tung-Sol 6L6's. That works for me. That gives me the tone I like.

Got agree with Pete, after listening to everyone I took out all (7) JJ 12AX7s and went with Surf's recommendation.
With the exception of using NOS RCA 12AX7s in the RTF spots, V3 & V6.

Actually my friend Curt Granger helped me come up with this, he owns Granger amps.
The RFTs give a wonderful articulate gain while the 7025s are lower gain and lower noise.

Surf"s Fav Tube Set

V1- Prefered Series 7025 (low noise)
V2- Tung-Sol
V3- RFT High Gain
V4- Tung-Sol
V5- Prefered Series 7025 (low noise)
V6- RFT High Gain
V7-Prefered Series 7025 (low noise)
So, for double the price it still just sounds fantastic to me and can't hear the difference.
I hear Waaaaaaaay more difference switching between the 5 different cabs in my studio.

Which actual tubes do you mean when you say, "sino"?
