Which would you go for on v1 for 2266

Postby Sully807 » 28 May 2014, 14:37

Preamp tube time, now from the prev threads many have recommended the harma 7025 for v1, should I go for the standard gain or high gain version?

Would only use that 7025 if you find your amp noisy in low range . The 7025 is great for low microphonics but will have less gain then a 12AX7

Amp isn't even really too noises on HDR apart from when I kick my OD pedal in.. just a regular 12ax7/ecc83 for all positions if I want maximum grunt from it then?

If you are going to use this vendor to purchase your tubes I would recommend simply installing four TungSol ECC83's in the amp. They are high gain and low noise, I have had good luck with them.

Cool thanks for the advice surf, so it's not necessary to put a special "balanced" tube in v4 for the phase inverter?

I installed JJ once and amp didn't brake at all in LDR. Even fully cranked.
Then I connected old 1922 cab and got tones I never had before in my life. I never get bored of this shit.
