F1AL 250 V Fuse

Postby basshole » 21 Nov 2008, 15:55

So i blew a fuse on my Deluxe reverb and since my technical knowledge in amps is way below zero i sincerely ask:
Would any 5x20 millimeter 1 ampere fast blow fuse do?
I could ask at any fender forum but i don't have to jump over the river to get water..

I'd take the old fuse with you to an electronics store. They should be able to match it up for you.
Are you sure it's a fast blow. I had to replace the one in my Twin a number of years ago & it seems to me it was a slow blow. Long time ago though, I could be wrong.

Thank you.
Well according to a few random electronics forums the "F" in the fuse's name stands for Fast blow. I guess i'll be a bit wiser after visiting my local electronics store and/or my tech.
Darn, i thought this would be as easy as a string shift but i don't dare doing anything hasty with my beloved workhorse.

Better safe than sorry. They may have changed the fuses over the years. Could've used different fuses for different models. Who knows.

You can sometimes find them in the hardware section of a store. I had a B-52 amp that kept blowing fuses before I took it back to the Local Guitar Wallmart. I found the fuses at Radio Shack. Just get the exact fuse, that way you will not kick yourself if something goes bad. Hopefully when you replace the fuse all is good.

Fast blow is correct as per Fender's recommendation, 1A for Europe and 2A for The States.

Click on the relevant schematic and read 'Note 4'
