2 different tubes

Postby saoa4248 » 20 Jul 2009, 08:47

Hi, I have a question, I was wondering if we can blend 2 types of tube (like marshall kt66 and the sovtek kt66) that share the same milivolatge (mV) in the vintage modern 2266 ? :smoker

It is just by simple curiosity :roll 'cause I was thinking about that a long time ago.

You could if they are closly matched, but I wouldn't do it. To get the most out of this amp you should just get a matched pair.

I always say if its not broke don't fuck with it, I have had much regret over the years not heeding this adivce. Trust me I have tried many tubes in this amp and the Stock tubes are just right, I currently have Valve Arts in mine which are basically the same as the stock Marshall tubes.
