I have heard of "Burn In" time for tubes, but I think it is completely subjective IMO. It may be because now your ears are used to the subtle tone change that came with the different tubes. It could be the mains supply you're plugged into is at a different voltage today than from last week (say 117 instead of 112, which happens more often than you'd think).
Thats why when I change a component, be it pre/power tubes, pedals, etc., I try to give them a good run for at least a couple weeks before I praise or persecute. Having your ears get used to a certain sound I really think plays a large factor, so people that try to A/B stuff multiple times in a short period may not be giving each component a fair shot. Call me crazy......
