Loose Tube

Postby Ritchie » 12 Oct 2010, 09:03

Hey folks , I was swapping out some pre amp tubes this morning and I noticed the far right ( looking at back of amp ) power tube is loose in it's base , the base is secure but the bottle has a slight loosness to it , it seems to be functioning okay and has a nice HT glow and everything and is'nt microphonic , so for the time being i'll leave it be , but is this something any of y'all have seen before ? and should I replace it or just forget about it and keep my fingers crossed that it stays working ? :dunno

Yes it does sometimes occur that the bottle and base become loose. If it doesn't become microphonic then leave it until it starts causing a problem (which it may never do!).
Still my guitar gently weeps
