Pre-amp tubes in VM. Re-bias in VM

Postby Vinny » 15 Oct 2010, 02:03

It's maybe already been discussed, but as I am relatevely new here :
In both VM's there are 4 Pre-amp tubes! 2 Are "naked",2 are in a aluminium-housing! Right?
So,what is their function? Which works in the LDR,Which in HDR? How much in each.
And what is the bias for the power-tubes for VM 50 watt and the 100 watt for the kt66
Do I have to re-bias the pre-amp tubes also?? If yeah, what is the bias for thoose?
For many of u it may seem stupid questions, but as I begin to learn more and more about the VM (how to play it nicely and wisely),I want to learn more and more about the inside off this great amp!

Not to be a smart ass or anything but you need to read up on the FAQ for the Vintage modern, it will answer your questions. This was put together by member Mety and Steve some time ago.
