The KT66 is still not a mass produced tube, the availibity is not that of EL34s. I think there are still only two factorys making them. I have noticed also the price has gone up on them by 25-50%.

If you look around you should be able to get a matched quad for $125 but the average is about $160 now.

Dougs Tubes has a selection in stock, I like the Pentas. All VM owners shoud have a couple extra with them.

I am looking to order a pair of the Shuguang KT-66 tubes.

I am on the Tube Store Website, they have one pair for $ 49.99, and then they have the KT-66Z for $199.00 for a pair.

Am I missing something here...or I am looking @ Chevette pricing vs. Porche? Quality wise.

Cheers.

Nothing wrong with the quality of the Shuguang KT-66 tubes. You may find them rebranded as Penta, or Valve Art. The Golden Lions and JJs are not made in China thus the higher price.
