Any comments on Sino tubes?

Postby tpr » 12 Aug 2011, 09:48

I like the TubeDepot site because they have different options for testing microphonics and balancing on the 12ax7. But they only offer Sino KT66, which appears to be made at the Shuguang factory. That might be ok, but some people think the tubes are separated before relabeling and the Sino might be poorer quality than the Shuguang or Valve Arts. Has anyone here used the Sino?

I can get the Shuguang from the tube store, but I don't see an option for testing microphonics and balancing. I guess I could call and talk to someone there to see what they can do for me.

The Shuguang tubes are made under a few different names, Sino is one of them. Tube Depot is a little on the high side but I have had good luck with them. I still use Dougs Tubes because he actually does test the tubes for what you want.
Gibson R8 - Gibson Explorer - Gibson R7 Goldtop
Marshall 2466 - Marshall JMD1 - Marshall 1987
No one wants to hear 64 bars full of 32nd-notes except the douche-bag blowing them from the stage.

Thanks. Tube Depot has the Sinos for 50/pair and Dougs has the Pentas for 70/pair.
