Ropey little riff ideas

All my ideas end up sounding hair metal... Here's an example... It's ropey as I'm a terrible player haha [youtube][/youtube]

Keep going, that is a nice bridge riff for a tune. I would worry so much about if its metal or not, if its sounds good then its good.
