Because of the extraordinarily high costs of production, there has been a lot of speculation over whether the label will ever release the album. I understand the risk from the label's perspective, because producing traditional CDs costs and it is difficult to assess the prospective level of demand for "a band" that hasn't done much in a decade. They don't want to throw good money after bad, so to speak. I think the label would be foolish not to release the album, if it is ever finished, electronically via iTunes, Napster, etc. There would be very little cost for distribution and it would enable them to assess the demand for the album while recovering some costs.

I have heard a few clips, but tbt am not a fan of this particular one.
still, I hope they release this work, if for no other reason than for closure

Chinese Democracy is slated for release on 11/23 via Bestbuy stores only. If you go to Bestbuy's website you can view the album artwork as well as the track listing for the record. While I think its great to hear new music, it will never equal the original GnR. I do like the cut of Chinese Democracy but it does not hold a candle to the classic GnR sound.

That is why I referred to GnR as "a band" in quotation marks in my prior posting. I think GnR stopped being a band years ago. It's the Axl Rose show now. I don't know how Tommy Stinson has stayed a member of the roster for so long.
