It may help (or not, who knows...) to think of it as an upside-down bass guitar tuning. That's how I got accustomed to mine a few years ago.

Well it is easier then I thought but still some things I am learning for sure. I got the chords down and now working on understanding the progressions giving the tuning of the thing. I am so used to doing guitar scales but this thing throws me off because of the tuning.

I would say it is still a work in progress. I do love this instrument though.
