I recently got a avid eleven rack and a behringer midi floorboard ( with eureka sound 11- prom chip)
I have to say it sounds really killer through my studiomonitors.
While i did not purchased it for recording it comes with protools so i installed it on my computer and
looked at the demo dvd that comes with it. W00w that is to say the least very overwhelming.
It is so complex i really do not have a f***king clue were to start.
Maybe you have some tips to start a simple recording over a backing track.

Mac or PC? I've been using ProTools everyday all day for the past 8 months now. After about a month it all comes together. Also, learn hot keys in the begining too, it'll save a bunch of time. Are you running it with just a M-Box?
Oh nvm, didn't know the eleven rack is also an interface. I found this video, might be of some help.

Yeah , i have seen that video.
The manuel is a few pages with snap shots and it is not a step by step guide.
I guess when it would be too simple people want better versions........
The opportunity to completely record and compose a song is awesome .
The eleven rack has a interface built in and also the possibility to use a mic on the front of
the eleven rack ( great for vocals or micing a tube amp)
I know this recording software has a long learning curve but when i see how a song can be creating
on the demo dvd i am willing to spend alot of time with it.
Thanks for sharing!!

What parts are you having trouble with? I'm not familiar with the Eleven Rack, but it looks like something you'd download a driver/install a CD and Protools will recognize it? Can you get the eleven rack to pop up on Protools? If so all you'd need to do is on the track select the input of the Eleven Rack and select an output as well so you can listen and throw it in record ready and record. If you're not seeing the Eleven Rack on ProTools I can't really help as I don't know about the product at all.

Today i recorded with the guitar over a backing track.
I had problem to record because one first have to enable record in the track and than in the main transport
and when you hit play or shift the recording begins. Also the drag and drop i figured out myself in order to
place the used backing track in place.
It is not difficult with a good manuel. But this piece of software is too complicated to figure everything out
myself....... I will try if i can download a full manuel of protools le on the avid site
Thanks for trying to help me , i appreciate it alot!!!

Manuals are better for the more in depth stuff.
Thanks Tony,
yeah , i see now that there are even more of these demos which are very helpfull.
I am kinda floored with all the things that are possible with a recorded sound;
plugins ( reverb delay etc) and the speed faster slower, reamping .
In my simple perspective it not only recording but also composing when one put a complete song
together.I will definately going to give it a shot.
