NIce plug-in cheap

Postby Atomic Angel » 26 Aug 2013, 23:48

a friend of mine from over the pond, excellent mix engineer turned me onto this one.. I tried the demo on a country song I'm mixing with female lead vox.. the track didn't need much. I dialed around on this eq for a bit just to test it out... very nice results.. the top end is sweet. I was able to peg the output on the top end of the eq, (extreme) and it still sounded pretty good. This is a nice plug in for the money.

This is intriguing! I'm gonna download the free trial when I get my set up all fixed up.

remember that the free demo introduces interval noise into the mix, which for the most part makes it unusable for anything other than comparison/testing.

For all the new "recording engineers" around here :howdy

Here you can download the best freeware VST plug-ins for your DAW: http://varietyofsound.wordpress.com/
It's a common opinion around DAW users that this guy software is top-notch even if they are for free.

There are many other great freeware plug-ins. You can find them all information and files at http://www.kvraudio.com/

It's a good point to start. With practice and experience someone can then judge better which expensive plug-ins may be necessary or not in addition to freeware and the DAW software included plug-ins.

thanks for the links.. already been there . have a few of them but rarely use them.. I tend to stick to just a few that I like that work well for me. Years ago I hit that Kvr and downloaded everything I could, thinking I was hitting the big time, lol.

I have the waves mercury bundle , I worked with some of the UA plug-ins for a bit. I really like them over everything I've tried so far.

Well, if you have Waves and are used to UA then of course you won't need much else out of the KVR download content.

You're right, too much plug-in options aren't helpful for a good workflow. Myself I use the Sonnox Bundle, the Variety of Sound plug-ins and a few particular plug-ins from other developer.
