Reaper

Postby Atomic Angel » 25 Oct 2013, 14:20

I had installed reaper, never paid them anything as I was just checking it out the full demo. 30 days had long past me by. I clicked on it to see if it would work, it came up with the pay the bill box. I kept clicking on the red x to close out the window. After 4/5 clicks the pay me box went away, I was able to use the program with full function capability. hmm free DAW ? :whoo Why would they do this? :dunno

I understand Audacity being free but, Reaper has quite a bit going on. they need i lock or something . :crazy

You can continue to "evaluate" it indefinitely, it seems. I haven't dug into it enough to see if you loose any functionality.

Reaper is fully functional for free forever. the $60 cost is based on the honor system.
keeping it loud- JMP-1 rack,LPs,strats,& way too much other gear.

Really if I was to use it, I would pay for it. It a powerful DAW, and comes with a shitload of plug-ins. Next time I get asked about a good DAW to start recording with, I'm going to mention Reaper.

If I was more motivated and more intelligent to do home recording, I would plunk down the $60 in a heartbeat. What little I've used is impressive and user friendly.
