PreSonus 16.0.2 for recording

Postby TheLesPaul101 » 25 Jan 2014, 17:47

How would i set this up? could just plug 2 XLR cables into my CI2 USB interface into the main L and R outputs?

Id rather get this one unit than the CMC controllers or a Mackie Universal Controller and an interface when i already have an interface with 2 inputs.

thanks

are you talking about the digital mixer or the rack interface?
they're both called a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 :dunno

lol-this showed up when you click the manual-

404-died of dysentry.. :laugher :crazy

if it's the full mixer you would go monitors or mains out to your interface in but it would be more practical to go either Firewire out straight to comp or midi out. -

if you do go w/ just the mains or mons out you only have 2 channel stereo going to your DAW.
use the midi or Firewire & you have all 16 channels w/ Capture.
keeping it loud- JMP-1 rack,LPs,strats,& way too much other gear.

How would you go to a FireWire? And is there anyway to go thunderbolt instead?

Thanks a ton

I know nothing about Thunderbolt but i did find Firewire to Thunderbolt adapters.
https://www.google.com/search?sourceid= ... .........0.

I don't know how well they work personally but I have read up on Firewire to USB adapters & it seems that doesn't work too well. :dunno

Here it says that you cant use this unit as a controller; only an interface.

Is this true and if so, why? it seems like you could totally use it for that purpose......

you can use it as a mixing controller/board but not a midi or usb "controller" or launchpad type of thing like this for example-

different animals.

here's a launchpad vid-
