Rubber Bass Pick and Les Paul

Postby sikter » 17 Jan 2015, 10:46

I tried to record my guitar picking it with rubber bass pick ( 3,1mm thick)
It feels very strange to play. It sticks to the strings making it difficult to time.
But I got some interesting new tones...

Take a listen!

It is missing that "pop" or sharp attack you get from a plastic pick.

Yes, it is! Thank you for the feedback, Surf!
I recorded another track with less gain and than mixed it with the original track.

I should probably test it later in mix with bass and drums... I think this could be usefull.

I've never tried a rubber pick but when playing certain songs on bass I'll use my index finger tip pad & if I want attack I'll use the nail side like a pick.

I couldn't imagine using a rubber pick on guitar.
keeping it loud- JMP-1 rack,LPs,strats,& way too much other gear.
my sounds,songs,& snippets-

I play bass with my fingers too but when bass line is too fast I just have to use a pick.
Plastic pick gives a metalic sound which I use for some songs but if I need finger bass sound and tempo is too fast I cheat with this rubber pick.

It's very uncomfortable with the guitar. But I'll probably use it in my next project
(somg name is "In vain" ha ha, it says something about the rubber pick)
