Recording into pro-tools direct from GT-100 and video for Youtube?

Postby noise5150 » 04 Jan 2017, 11:34

Hi guys I apologize for this question that will probably require a long technical answer. Id like to record a few YouTube videos where I am going direct from my BOSS GT-100 into Protools 10, to show the quality of a direct recording while also showing myself playing. I have been using my Galaxy S7 which records surprisingly high quality video, but I dont know how to also record direct from the GT-100 into Protools and do video. I know its probably a simple thing that tons of guys on YouTube do but I have no idea how to do it! Please advise. Thanks!
*oh BTW I have a MacBookPro and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 setup.

Connect your GT100 to your sound card
and before starting recording, hit your camcorder too.
You will save time if you select 48000 hz in your recording setup but if you don't have that option
use settings that you usually do.
You will get to files, one in Protools software and another one in your camcorder.
Now you are able to EQ your track on Pro Tools, Master it or anything you like.
Next step is to import your mastered audio file and your video file into video editing software
(I use Adobe Premiere) you can use any you prefer. You need to sync those two files, mute audio file recorded by camcorder and then hit the export. You may have some syncing issues!
We can talk about it next time.
Good luck!

The GT100 plugs into your PC via a USB cable. you then select the GR100 as your source in ProTools.
