Lack of Volume...

Postby skinnyj » 23 Jul 2019, 13:30

Setup question...

I run my AX8 into an older M-Audio M-Track, then into my PC and out to a pair of PreSonus Eris 4.5" powered monitors. The problem I am having is a lack of volume, especially when the mix is set equally between the AX8 and audio playback. I'm not sure if the weak link is the interface (preamps) or the monitors (25 watts per side). I'm finding I have to crank the volume on the interface pretty high to get a desirable working volume... :dunno

Yeah it could be both really to blame. But better speakers will definitely give you more volume.
I use 40w per channel and it's only just enough for me.

You don't provide much information to see a possible cause.

For example, which device connections are connected together and with what type of cable?

Is there an unbalanced cable connected to a balanced connection?

Is the output of each device set to provide the right amount of signal to the next one?
