New Studio PC on the way

Postby surfnorthwest » 24 Oct 2009, 20:54

This might be of intrerst to you computer freaks. As you know I record about everyday and it has become very frustrating with a lot of my hardware and different recording software always putting a heavier load on the proccessor. I am going to do my first serious upgrade in the studio on a new system.

SONAR has released 8.5 which runs as a native 64 bit in new Windows 7, and my RME FIreFace 800 Audio Converter also has 64 bit drivers for Windows 7 already. The benefit of working with 64 bit is that the system requires half the memory and is much easier on system resources such as the CPUs. What this means is more tracks and more plug-ins all working at once. :yea

I configured a system through http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ which I think make the best computers for the price here in the US. Check it out.
