Anyone try out Waves GTR3 ???

Postby lowenzz » 09 Jun 2010, 19:24

I am looking for a new sim software, interface, controller package.
I've been using the old Line6 gearbox/ampfarm forever. Anyone have thoughts on how they all compare. GuitarRig, Amplitude, AmpFarm, WavesGTR3 ? They all look interesting.

The WavesGTR3 package looks quite cool. Seems like a nice bit of gear for $360.00

Have not tried that version although I am well aquanted with Waves products. I have Waves Mercury Bundle for the studio and it has some of GTR3 in it although I have not messed around with it. I am using Guitar Rig 4 in the studio when I need to build a certain tone I cannot with my amps and effects. Very touchy getting the volume dialed in right but the amps and effects are fantastic.

If you have a PC that will handle the program I say go for it and have fun, all these guitar interfaces are a blast to work with as you can get real creative like The Edge.

Highly recommend staying with the manufactures interface to avoid all sorts of problems using a interface from another manufacture could cause.
