Cable question

Postby bluesbrother » 24 Oct 2010, 10:19

Maybe a dumm question but if i want to go from a XLR emulated
line out from the marshall JMD or my koch loadbox to my
behringer 502 mixer. The mixer got line in 2/3 and 4/5 but there are
two inputs for stereo?. There is also a Mic input.
It is really cheap but somehow i love this mixer. I connect the boss
eband-js8 to the CD input for my backing tracks . The two mains out
go to my behringer truth monitors.I also experimented with a unknown
mic i had lyying for years and to my surprise it sounded pretty good
micing up the VM.
I also wonder if i could use the cd rec out ( red and white left) to
connect a small handheld recorder you see so much lately??
Recording software is too complicated and i really want things simple.

What cable i need to go from the emulated XLR line out from the JMD
to a behringer mixer 502???

Just go from the JMD with a female XLR into the XLR input on the Behringer with a male XLR.... thats it. The advantage is you can adjust the input level with the mixer so it doesn't clip.

Thanks Surf,
Does it not matter that the XLR input on the behringer is for mics??
Because i do not have the cable yet , i tried the headpones out to
the 1/4 '' mic input and that sounded OK i think.

Doesn't matter, use the XLR input.

The spec sheet on your mixer says it will accept +12dB with the Gain Trim pot set at minimum (+10dB). There should be no problem as long as you keep this gain control on the mixer low.
Still my guitar gently weeps
