I have been listening to this at work on my headphones. Dry as hell yes. Needed some reverb bad. Some delay our something. No excuses really for it being a bunch of modeling equipment. The performance does get better though as they get warmed up. I think they suffered from some cold fingers at first. This is really cool as shit though. What a setting!! Looks like a National Geographic scene. Theres nothing around anywhere. I am an old fan of the 80s & early 90s stuff.

Hammett and Mesa/boogie. Is there anymore explanation needed?
Those amps he uses sound like ass. Theres this sqwealie tone to his solos and its freakin annoying. No guts to it. He plays alright but the tone just ruins it.

Kirk is not one of my heros and I would never chase his tone but you guys really dont like the older stuff? I'm talking Justice and back. His solos later on were never as good as the era I'm taking about thats for sure. Night and day difference. I still say the second half of his Disposable Heros solo was his finest moment. The solo at the end of Fade to Black wasn't bad either. I used to play that one. I thought everything on Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets was pretty good. Maybe I feel this way because I was in my 20s then.
