Slash Joins Aerosmith

Postby Wildone » 10 Apr 2014, 09:22

Announcing their upcoming joint North American "Let Rock Rule" Aerosmith took the Whisky a Go Go stage to mark the occasion in an appropriate rocking manner.

But once the guys charged through "Mama KinJoe Perrykicked off the "Welcome to the Jungle" riff, leading into one of the worst and most awkward live renditions of the classic track.

Apart from the band being disorganized, Steven Tyler didn't exactly figure out the lyrics. So as Metal Sucks guys point out, instead of the usual "Welcome to the jungle / We've got fun 'n' games / We got everything you want / Honey, we know the names"verse, we got this:

"Welcome to the jungle / Gunnasendee-ee / Whatchugottofeeluhmove / But you wanna go back with me"

But it was all good fun and hardly anyone was offended. So while we're at it, we might as well ask you this - is it worse than the infamous 2012 "Mickey Mouse" performance by the Guns themselves? Check out the clips below and let us know, focus on the 28:50 mark in the first video.

Gibson R8 - Gibson Explorer - Gibson R7 Goldtop
Marshall 2466 - Marshall JMD1 - Marshall 1987
No one wants to hear 64 bars full of 32nd-notes except the douche-bag blowing them from the stage.

Welll, since they only did a snippet of the song it wasn't nearly as bad as the GnR version.
They seemed like they were just having a little fun and giving props to Slash.
Marshall was nicely represented on stage though . . .

The phones piss me the fuck off. You will never see me doing that shit. I don't need video or pictures even.
Many Marshall's, and I want more.

Are you kidding me!

I'd challenge ANY singer in a live sitch to be scrutinized by this mix, his vocal is totally way up in the mix. He sounds fine. No, he sounds GREAT!
(it's the backing vocals that suck, like Pink, Walk This Way)

you wanna hear SUCKS, listen to Diamond Dave.

and FK those damn phablets!!!! bunch of geeks, they're at the whiskey listening to a legend, and they got their damn phones out. unbelievable!

wow, seeing Slash an Joe Perry jam, cool (another indication the mix/recording sucked, you can't hear Joe!)

Awww, You're too hard on poor Steve, at least he's still standing and doing a credible job.
Joe has a Bazzilion guitars, Steve only has his one voice and all those scarfs . . . :laugh
As a New England native who always called Aerosmith a local band, I gotta stick up for my bros . . .

Oh, and as far a recording that moment, yah. it's obnoxious but it also goes by sooooo fast, I'd want to see it again and again too
