BB King and Buddy Guy

Postby Green Manalishi » 07 Jun 2010, 21:57

I just got some tickets for BB King and Buddy Guy performing at a local casino. Can't wait! It is August 12.

I've seen Buddy about 10 years back, great show. Glad I get to see BB finally, before I don't get the chance too.

Got decent seats too, 14th row.

Buddy Guy has come to the blues festival down here twice now. He is absolutely, positively amazing! A brilliant showman, singer and unreal blues guitarist! Live he is amazing!!!!

You will not be disappointed!

I've seen Buddy twice but never BB. He plays here quite often, but I always seem to hear about it the day after. I really want to see him while I can. I got to see John Lee Hooker a couple of months before he passed.

I don't give a shit what anyone says but BB King is just getting better all the time. His chops are very simple but so much soul and very effective. Buddy Guy is to me a pure bluesman, just nice stuff comes from his hands.

The concert should be small enough to be personal.... enjoy!!

It was a very weird show. His backing band was fantastic and carried the show. John mainly just sat in a chair and every once in a while strummed his guitar and/or mumbled into the mic. He was not doing too well. It was pretty obvious he didn't have much time left. He got a standing ovation at the end and it was very touching. When we left my wife was crying.

Oh man! It's great he got a standing ovation. What a legend! good on the backing band.

And surf, so correct about bb king. Alot of ppl don't rate him because of the simplicity but, he makes his guitar make the most beautiful sounds i've ever heard a guitar make.

I'll take B.B.'s simplicity over Vai's, Johnson's or Satriani's style anyday.
