Some pics & vids of Trower in Southampton

Postby Supernaught » 20 Sep 2010, 16:35

I managed to get myself up at the stage right in front of Robin, literally two feet away from him for the whole gig which was awesome! Unfortunately it meant that the I could hardly hear the singer as I was stood in behind of the PA, and I was less than six feet away from Robin's 2 Vintage Moderns set on 3 o'clock MV pointing directly at my head. My ears are still ringing like buggery!

It was one hell of a gig though, the guy IS Hendrix without all the tricks and psycedelia. Amazing... :jam

Anyway, have some pics and a couple of short vids. Due to the volume I didnt think my phone would handle the sound so didnt bother videoing much at all. If Id have known how respectable it handled it I would have got a lot more recorded. Ah well, next time...

I managed to get some shot of Robins amps and if you look closely you can see where he's marked the front of them to give settings. Both were on High Range, Ive not been able to tell if Mid was on or not tho. Got some snaps of his pedals too if anyones interested.

Wow this post made my day, awesome pictures. You were lucky enough to witness the master of tone. I always leave his show very humbled, I am sure you understand. Thanks for posting the video too, I know what it sounds like to be in front of Robin.

Thanks man :clap

Yeah thanks a lot! He sure seems to change his settings a lot. The ones you show here are much different than last tour. Looks like he has them scratched into the amp faceplate now which is odd since he normally just puts a green start sticker. He must be sure this is where he likes it. Also, looks like you got the settings for the 2466 on the left. Did you happen to get a good shot of the 2266 on the right?

Last time I saw him, his master was around 8, bass 2, middle 6, treble 7, detail and body both on 4

Mid - A hair under 2
Treb - A hair under 2
Detail - 3.5

If I remember correctly his settings in the Marshall interview featured high detail and low body settings. Seems like he messes around quite a bit.
