Help with Blues Jr

Postby ClassicRock88 » 09 Sep 2017, 20:59

Hey guys. I have a cream board Fender Blues Jr. that quit at practice a little while back. I thought it was just output tubes as everything was working swimmingly and then it was suddenly silent. New EL84's didn't solve the problem. The amp powers up, the pilot light comes on and all of the filaments light up. Both fuses on the board are good and there appear to be no burned resistors anywhere on the board. My next best guess is that the OT was taken out when the tubes let go. Does this sound like the most likely culprit? I'd like to know before I order a replacement, so if anybody has experienced a similar failure of this amp it would be very helpful to know what ended up taking it down.

Before ordering a new OT change out the pre amp tubes. A dead PI can cause this.
