New 1960B cab

Postby Mats A » 04 Feb 2015, 07:43

I'm glad i sold my 1960BV cab and got a 1960B 75W cab instead. I had the V30 Cab for 10 years. When i bought it it was the Marshall cab to have. It had sweeter highs. It may be the Truth but instead it has some very harsh piercing midrange. I don't like it. With the 75W and 25W Greenies you kind of get more air on the tone. I believe speakers with the M magnet is better for guitar than the ones with the H magnet. Also the 75W is closer to the Greenies than the V30 in my humble opinion of course.

Big difference between greenbacks, Vin30s, and the T75s. I have two T75 cabs and only like them for high gain stuff. It really is just personal preference.

Happy New Cab Day! I had a 1960B with the new generation T75's until recently. I sold it to buy a 1960BX because I wanted to have a Greenback cab with checkerboard cloth on it. I did really like it though and I agree that you can get some very "Greenback-y" sounds from the new 75's!

It's great. I most often use borrowed 1960 75W cabs at gigs. I got a 1960BX cab also. It's great but the 1960 has a bit more bottom end to it.
