Lynchback opinions?

Postby Sully807 » 09 Jun 2015, 05:49

Currently looking at speakers for my 1936 so I can get rid of the boxy muffled mids 75s in there, was going to chuck a couple of v30s in there but then these caught my eye.. From the reviews I have seen apparently they are a perfect sonic mix of v30 and greenback .. Which sounds perfect for a 212 to me, as in a 4x12 I'd probably mix v30s with greenbacks but with a 212 you then get an inbalance depending on where you stand to the cab..
les Paul -> cry baby -> mxr/CAE boost/line driver -> mxr m77 super bad ass modified OD -> marshall 2266 front end ->loop -> TC flashback delay -> mxr 10 band EQ -> marshall sv-1 chorus -> loop return -> marshall mf280a 4x12 cab

Have you thought about the G12C from the Vintage Modern / Hendrix stack range. A great speaker if you want a Greenback flavour and available from Marshall direct.

Lovely speakers but wouldn't be enough power handling for my 100watt tsl, also the lynchbacks despite the name aren't really greenback voiced, they have elements of the GB and v30 from what I've read
