celestion g12M green backs are lower sensitivity so will be more suitable for lower volume playing. and are also among the most popular of speakers!!
Everybody seems to think i'm lazy.
I dont mind...I think they're crazy!

Ohms have no effect on volume. You'll want 16 ohm speakers to avoid confusion and keep the cab in its stock configuration. 2 16 ohm speakers means your cab will be 8 ohm and that's what you will set the head to.
Speaker choice is a big decision with the VM as I have found it has a big effect on your overall tone (moreso than with other amps).
When researching speakers, look for the sensativity rating. The lower the number the quiter the speakers will be. You'll also have to take wattage into account.
What head do you have?
What style do you play?

Havent played it yet.. Gettin it on monday. The 2266. with a 1936 cab.
My style is kind of a mixture of jazz/blues/Country. fast runs with bending notes , played in "Beck manner" with playingdynamics and use of volume control.
Now hoping I can get singing sustain and bluesbreakattack and clean enough for Chords ..all in one channels sound..
And all this in hopefully low enough volume..
Alot to hope for here I know but..but with the VM..: achievable!! :-) OR.....

I think you'll find the tone you're looking for in low dynamic range. :winking

With the 50 watt head you certainly have quite a few more options than I do with the 100 watter. Some good options for you would be: Celestion G12m (Greenback), G12h30 or the Classic Lead 80. Some people like the V30 but I personally think the others would be a better choice based on the tone you've described.
