Guess I Fragged Up! I wanted a 425B, missed it!

Postby ironlung40 » 28 Oct 2009, 21:54

Hey all, I missed a great deal on a 425B. It was $525.00 in mint condition. I just missed it! I want one of these cabs badly for my 2466, but cannot afford one at retail. This one was on the "evilbay". I bought my amp new from a marshall dealer, but just could not swing the cab too. So, I guess I just wanted a place to express my frustration. Do you think they'll be another one along for a similar price and condition, or did I miss a deal of a lifetime?

thanks for any sympathy! :bang

its hard to tell. i dont think the 425s are as common, atleast not where im from!! so it might be a while before another comes along! but that said, i use to see stuff used at great prices and use to feel i had to get it before its too late or before i miss out even tho i would not have the money!! but then i realised, there is ALWAYS someone buyin and sellin gear, so as much as it may seem at the time like the deal of a life time, somethin else will come around again sooner or later!

i saw a piece of gear once and thought it was an awsome deal!! and i didnt have the money at the time so i thought id really missed a great deal! ended up seein a better one for like nearly half the price! so dont worry man! guitarists are always gettin bored of their gear or getting new gear etc so just keep an eye out and somethin will always come up again!!
Everybody seems to think i'm lazy.
I dont mind...I think they're crazy!

Thanks Man, I appreciated your comments. I'll keep on the lookout. It just sucks having to wait. Oh well, my vintage 30 cab will have to do for awhile longer. :barf

Keep watchin'!!!! It took me about 6 weeks of "Bay Watching" to snag an awesome deal on a used 425A. I found a new 2266 head in an unopened box from a dealer unloading old inventory, after trolling for 2 months. Added together they cost me $1300! Times are tough and people are selling gear cheap, another will come along.

You should also watch for a 1960BX or AX cabinet too. They are loaded with 25watt greenbacks also and sound great with the VM. I have the 1960BX and love the vintage look and sound.

+1

was actually meant to say that too! to look out for a greenback cab aswel! the ones surf mentions or also a 1960TV. i have the 1960TV and its pretty sweet! greenbacks aswel, looks vintage too!! the TV stands for tall vintage cos its taller than any other standard sizes by a 3r4 inches i think. i was initially set on gettin a 425 but went wit that cab and have no regrets!

thanks for the recommendations. I'll check out the 1960tv as well. I really want the 425 to match my 2466, though. So, it's definitely tone #1, but a matching cab would be cool too. I'll keep watching the net for a good deal. :computer
